Virgil’s Tomb Literary Park – Piedigrotta, Naples

The Vergiliano park in Piedigrotta (otherwise called Virgil’s Tomb park), not to be confused with the Virgiliano park in the Posillipo district, is a park in Naples, located uphill from the Grotta, in the Piedigrotta area, behind the church of the same name, famous because it preserves the tomb which popular tradition holds to be Virgil’s, and also the sepulchral monument which contains what is presumed to be the remains of Giacomo Leopardi.
